Backyard Bliss
Located in Earlwood Sydney, NSW, this project involved transforming a suburban backyard into a peaceful retreat. The design began with a comprehensive consultation to understand the client’s vision for a tranquil and a simple nature-inspired garden. Key features include pool + surrounds with a seamless transition into the softscapes aspect of landscape including turf + garden beds creating a serene ambiance. Surrounding the pool, a variety of native plants were chosen not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their ability to attract local wildlife such as birds and butterflies, adding life and movement to the garden.

Design in Details
The project began with an in-depth consultation to understand the client’s vision of creating a peaceful garden retreat. We focused on elements that would promote relaxation and enhance the natural beauty of the space. Detailed sketches and a 3D model were created to visualize the design, ensuring alignment with the client’s expectations.
A central feature of this garden is the custom-designed pond. The pond was constructed using natural stone and features a cascading waterfall that adds a soothing sound element, enhancing the tranquil ambiance. Aquatic plants such as water lilies and lotus were introduced to the pond, providing a habitat for fish and other aquatic life.
The planting scheme emphasizes native plants that are well-suited to the local climate and soil conditions. These plants were selected for their ability to attract local wildlife, such as birds, butterflies, and beneficial insects. Varieties include flowering shrubs like Grevillea, Banksia, and Callistemon, which offer vibrant colors and textures throughout the year.
